Is the heat of the sun killing you today? Maybe some nice cold glasses of milkshakes can make all that stress go away. Oh wait, you don’t have a blender, so you can’t make one, but can you? What if we tell you that we can teach you how to make a milkshake without a blender?

That’s right; you can make it happen. There is a recipe of milkshake no blender needed. So, perk up and ready yourself because we are going to teach you how to do the perfect milkshake, right here.

Once you’ve tasted this homemade milkshake, you’ll never be able to stop making a milkshake at home. It’s so good and delicious that it’s arguably the best milkshake recipe that we’ve had so far. Try it, and you’ll see the difference.

      Ingredients

      Ingredients

In making a milkshake without blender, just get the regular milkshake ingredients. It’s the process that will be different. So here are the ingredients to make a milkshake.

      Ice Cream

Get whatever ice cream flavor you want. Every ice cream shake tastes good anyway, so you can’t go wrong with any; just pay attention to the quality. You don’t want super soft ice cream that looks like it will melt easily, but you don’t want it too thick either.

In case you’re wondering how to make a milkshake without ice cream, just replace this with fruits. It’ll taste just as good, but it will be much healthier. Refrigerate them, so they’ll be cold before you add them into the mixture.

      Milk

Lots of it. Try to go for whole milk and not those other types because this one tastes better. Try to stack up on milk as the mixture needs more of it than any other ingredients in this list.

Always remember that for a scoop of ice cream, try to add at least 3 or 2 cups of milk. This is especially important if you’re planning to add some fruits. Having too little milk on that mixture will result in it being too thick that it can’t be drunk with a straw.

Always make sure that your mixture has more milk than any other ingredients. Try going for a 3 to 1 ratio. It will make the ending milkshake creamy and super smooth.

      Any Add-ons

You want chocolate on that drink, go get it. You can try to make as many milkshakes flavors as you want. Go crazy with it, as that drink is made just for you, so no need to be conscious about what it will turn out to taste like.

We do suggest getting a banana, some strawberries if you can find them, and some whipped cream. Vanilla flavoring is also great for making shakes.

      Toppings

What’s a good milkshake without great toppings? It’s boring. While you’re buying your main ingredients, grab a pack of sprinkles, some M&M’s, even Skittles if you want.

      Steps

      Steps

Now that you have everything that you need, it’s time to teach you how to make a milkshake. It’s not that hard and it won’t take you thirty minutes to make a glass, for sure. So here are the steps on how to get that milkshake, without machine’s help.

      Test Your Container with Water

The first thing that you have to do is to find a large container with a lid. Don’t use the largest one in the house. Just get the one you can hold comfortably between your hands because you’re going to need to shake that later.

Also, put water on it and try shaking. Test if not a single drop will fall out. If the water does fall out, use another container because if that one can’t contain something as fluid as water, it won’t be able to hold your milkshake.

Cut the Ingredients to Little Pieces

Since there are no sharp blades at the bottom of that bowl, cut your ingredients to little pieces. That’ll help them blend easier with ice cream and milk. It’s not necessary to mince them or anything, just cut them into tiny pieces.

      Refrigerate the Glass

You can skip this one, but since you’re not going to be able to add ice into that milkshake, it’s good to do it anyway. Just put glasses in the fridge and don’t take them out until you’re ready to pour some shake into it. This will help to cool your shake while you’re drinking it.

      Throw Everything in Your Container

Once you’ve done all that, prepare the ingredients for the shaking. Just throw everything in and make sure to put that lid on really tight. Then proceed to the blending.

Method 1 Mixing in a Container with a Lid

It’s not that hard to imitate what a blender does. You could do it yourself. To make milkshake without blender, throw everything in a container and shake it. Of course, make sure that it has a tight lid to keep everything inside.

The last thing that you’d want to happen is to have the ingredients splattered all over the kitchen. The aim is to blend everything inside just like a blender, but without using one; for smooth and perfect taste, shake that container really hard. It might hurt your hand, but it’ll taste great.

Method #2: Mixing in a Bowl

Method 2 Mixing in a Bowl

Of course, you can also try and mix everything with a spoon. It will hurt your hand even more, but at least you can control how everything mixes up, and it won’t be as much of a mess. All you’ll need is your hands and a ladle or a large wooden spoon.

So, get blending. Put everything on a bowl, not a container, and mix it with passion. Try to use glass or metal bowl because a plastic one can easily get dented and there’s a chance, although small one, that some of it contaminates your drink.

All in all, a glass is more practical and safer. Just make sure that it’s big enough to take all your ingredients in. If you can use one super deep, then even better. Just make sure that the mouth is wide so that you can comfortably blend the mixture in it.

Alright, now you know how to make a milkshake without a blender! You enjoy your very own homemade smoothie every day. So that’s how to make a milkshake at home and without using any blender. It’s no different than the usual way on how to make milkshake, but this time you didn’t use a blender.

Just a tip, if you’re planning to make some more homemade milkshake tomorrow, try to buy your ice cream tomorrow as well. They don’t do so well in refrigerators, and you avoid that drink tasting like chocolate flavored soda. For thick and creamy finish, use an ice cream fresh from the store.

Also, try not to take breaks while mixing or shaking, because it will melt the mixture inside. Just shake on and on, rest when you’re done so that the drink inside stays very creamy. And that’s it, enjoy! Leave us a comment whether you find our advice useful!

Each time I tried making milkshakes at home, it was frustrating because the ice cream was melting too quickly. And until you mentioned it, it didn't occur to me to put the glass in the freezer.🤦🏼‍♂️ At least now I’ll now that in a recipe without a blender, you can’t put ice.

We live in such a consumerist society that you think you have to buy a machine for everything. But does it have to be that way!? The article I read proved that it doesn't because I found the best way to make a milkshake without any gadget! When you think about it, it isn't that difficult. Just put all the ingredients in the container and shake, shake, shake!

Hello! Well, i love experiments and your ideas of homemade milkshake no blender are pretty cool. I guess I can use yoghurt instead of milk. It will enhance the creaminess and I think it will be more nutritious. But that’s just my point. It’s up to you what you want to make. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Look forward to your next post!

my daughter is about to have a pajama party with her friends tonight. But unfortunately my blender has broken today. I really don’t have time to go to the shop as it is far away from us. Make milkshakes at home without a blender? It is a SUPERMOM challenge! So, thank god, I have found your site and lots of variants to experiment. I think that will be interesting for girls to fantasize, experiment on tastes and try a role as chefs.

Great job. Even your tasty looking pictures made me get my butt off the coach and make a milkshake)) I made it with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and in the end, I powdered it with marshmallows. By the way, you can also use a whisk if you have. It simplifies the process of shaking up.
